CBI detained former Karnataka minister and Congress leader Vinay Kulkarni on Thursday and taken him into custody for interrogation, in connection with the 2016 murder case of Yogesh Gowda, a BJP leader and Zilla Panchayat member from Dharwad. The CBI team  picked up former Congress minister Vinay Kulkarni from his residence in Shivagiri of Dharwad around 7 am.
Yogesh Gowda was a Zilla Parishad member who was murdered in a gymnasium. His brother had sought CBI’s investigation into the matter. The CBI team also took Vijaya Kulkarni, Vinay Kulkarni’s younger brother, into custody for interrogation.
