NEW DELHI: Indians have banned Chinese goods in the country after China and India’s dispute at Ladakh border. On every commodity, now people are demanding that on every product or services, original country information should be shared.
With the acceptance of the self-reliant India campaign, the popularity of domestic goods and manufacturers is increasing. The government is seriously considering this issue to implement it on all the e-commerce platforms.
The Department of Industry and Internal Trade Promotion (DPIIT) on Wednesday met with representatives of e-commerce platforms, including Amazon and Flipkart, to solicit their views.
Speaking to IANS, DPIT Secretary General Guruprasad Mohapatra said the issue is under consideration by the ministry. It’s main purpose is Make in India brand vision and also gives consumers more choice if they know where the product came from.
There is no any direction from the higher authority yet as this issue is now only discussed with entrepreneurs. The final decision will be taken after proper consideration.
