Mangalore: A charge sheet was filed by investigating officer KU Belliyappa in connection with the explosive case at Mangalore International Airport here. Belliyappa has filed a case with the JMFC court in Mangalore.

The case’s investigation process was completed last April and a 700-page charge sheet is ready. It was obtained by the Collector and sent to the State Government for approval. “The preliminary letter has been received from the Secretary of State’s Department of Home Affairs and the background charge sheet has been submitted to the court,” said KU Belliyappa, Inspector and ACP of Mangalore North Subdivision.
Investigation has revealed that the accused Aditya Rao had set the explosive at Mangalore airport for the purpose of intimidating the people. Also, the FSL Test has proved that the suspicious items found in the bag he had left at the airport were explosives. Against this backdrop, a charge sheet has been prepared against him in connection with the Prevention of Illegal Activities Act.
