Bengaluru: The schools in Karnataka will be reopening from January 1st, 2021 for students of classes 10 and 12. Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has announced today that the schools in the state will be reopening for the students of classes 10 and 12 from January 1, 2021, as per the recommendations put forward by the Technical Advisory Committee .

However, students who want to attend schools will need a written permission from their parents. Making the announcement, Karnataka Education Minister S Suresh Kumar also said that Vidyagama programme for Classes 6 to 9 will begin from January 1. Under Vidhyagama scheme, teachers can teach students in open areas like under the shade of big trees or at religious places and community halls. He said ” Attending classes of vidyagama is not compulsory but all students in Karnataka need to get admitted in some school or the other, so no child can stay out of this system.
