Mysore :Dasara festivities were kick started with the offering with the offering of prayers to Goddess Chamundeshwari atop the Chamundi Hill on Saturday.festival ceremony is inaugurated by  Dr CN Manjunath, cardiologist,Director  Director Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Research Bangalore member of the Karnataka Covid task force, who said his prayers were aimed at the early development of a successful Covid-19 vaccine. Chief Minister BS Yediyurapppa and several of his Cabinet ministers also present. Due to COVID-19, this year Mysore Dasara Celebrations will be held in a simple manner. According to C M Yediyurappa events like sports meet or Yuva Dasara will not be organized to avoid crowed. Mysore Dasara is the “Nadahabba” or the State-Festival of the State of Karnataka, called as “Navaratri” meaning Nine-Nights, a 10-day festival, celebrated with utmost spectacle and joy in the city of Mysore.
