Bollywood choreographer Saroj Khan(1948-2020)  died in Mumbai on Friday of cardiac arrest.Hindi film industry has lost one of its most talented and respected choreographer. Saroj Khan, the National Award winning choreographer and she choreographed many songs in hindi film industry.

Saroj Khan was one of the most prominent and leading Indian dance choreographers in Hindi cinema.Saroj was born in Mumbai in 1948 . she began her career as a child artiste as a background dancer  she started  learning dance from the well-known dance master of the day – B Sohanlal a dance director for Bollywood movies with a career span of over forty years, she choreographed more than 2000 songs and is known as “The Mother of Dance/Choreography in India”.

Her most successful collaborations were with actor late Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit. Saroj got noticed after she choreographed for Sridevi in Mr. India’s song “Hawa Hawai” (1987).

Saroj’s other popular films include Baazigar, Mohra, Darr, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Taal, Veer-Zaara, Pardes, Soldier, Don, Saawariya and many more

Madhuri  and late Sridevi dominated the Indian film songs  with a majority of them choreographed by Saroj Khan.
