PATHANAMTHITTA: The incident took place on Monday noon when the police noticed a man without mask travelling on a scooter was stopped by police officials who were carrying out random checks on motorists near the St Peter’s junction in the town. After stopping him, they learnt that who had returned from Saudi Arabia and landed in Kerala on July 3 .On further inquiries, the person disclosed that he was under home quarantine. A district health official confirmed the same.The police sought to take him to the hospital for tests but he became uncooperative and attempted to escape.
The police pulled up the man for violating quarantine norms upon ,He refused to accompany the cops to the hospital. The health workers chased after him and finally were able to catch him from a nearby shop at St Peter’s Jn and his legs and arms were tied by health workers .He was later admitted to the Kozhenchery General Hospital.The locals had also joined in the chasing , the health workers asked them to stay away to ensure their safety. His contact tracing is going on. The entire area was later disinfected by Fire and Rescue service personnel.
