IAS officer Supriya Sahu shared a post in twitter about a incredible journey of postman who did his job with utmost dedication till he retired.
The postman, D Sivan, delivered mail after trekking for nearly 15 kilometres through the hilly terrain of Coonoor every day for three decades. The 66-year-old postman has claimed that during his time as a postman, he has been chased by elephants, come face to face with snakes, bears among other wild animals which are found along the Nilgiri Mountain Railway track.
IAS officer Supriya Sahu took to Twitter and shared a post which commemorated Sivan’s consistent work and his retirement. In her post on the micro-blogging website, she wrote: ‘Postman D. Sivan walked 15 km every day through thick forests to deliver mail in inaccessible areas in Coonoor. Chased by wild elephants, bears, gaurs, crossing slippery streams&waterfalls he did his duty with utmost dedication for 30 years till he retired last week’.
