44th Khajuraho Dance Festival :Temple premises brighten after 44 years

The six-day Khajuraho Dance Festival, that is being organised at the Khajuraho Temple which is a UNESCO World Heritage site in Madhya Pradesh, was started on Feb 21, 2021. Khajuraho is known for its ancient Hindu temples as well as Jain temples. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) granted permission to organize the festival at the ancient site. The dance festival is being organised at the Khajuraho Temple after 44 years,. It is organised by the Department of Culture of Madhya Pradesh Government. The six-day-long festival will have performances by artistes from across the country including Kuchipudi dancing couple Raja-Radha Reddy from New Delhi, Bharatnatyam dancer Lakshmi Vishwanathan from Chennai, Bharatnatyam dancer Hema Tharuna-Kalaanjali from Chennai, Kathak dancer Mohini Moghe from Jabalpur, Manipuri dancer Darshna Jhaveri from Mumbai and Odissi dancer Kadambari Shivaya from Mumbai
