At least 7 killed, 70 injured in massive bomb blast in Pakistan’s Peshawar

At least 7 people were killed and as many as 70 were injured in an explosion in Pakistan’s Peshawar on Tuesday morning. The development was confirmed by Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Mansoor Aman. The blast occurred at a Madrassah at Kohart Road in Dir Colony in Peshawar. The attack took place in the madrasa when someone took a bag inside the seminary during the Quran class. All injured have been shifted to Lady Reading Hospital at Peshawar. SSP Aman said that the preliminary investigation hinted at the use of improvised explosive device(IED) for the blast. About 5 kgs of explosives were used in the explosion, he added. Meanwhile, the police and rescue teams have reached the crime scene and launched the rescue operation.
