Bengaluru residents have to pay 2% ‘road transport cess’ on property tax starting April 1. This comes after both Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Administrator Gaurav Gupta and Karnataka government’s Urban Development Department approved the resolution. The cess, which’ll reportedly increase BBMP’s revenue up to ₹80 crore annually, will be used to develop cycle tracks and pedestrian ways.
