Govt asks private hospitals to return unused vaccines stocks

In the run-up to the universal immunization drive starting May 1, private hospitals are being told to return the un-used stock of Covid-19 vaccines to the State Government by the end of this month.

Cannot use them for the new round of inoculations opened to all above 18 from May 1 (Saturday).Effectively, private centres cannot vaccinate anyone until they receive new stocks directly from the manufacturers, which is unlikely to happen by May 1.
