The Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi addressed the 66th Convocation of IIT Kharagpur today through a video conference. Addressing the 66th convocation of IIT, Kharagpur, the PM said, “Disaster management is a subject which the world has looked up to India. Modi asked the students to adopt the mantra of Self 3 to overcome their self-doubts and obstacles in the future. He said Self 3 is Self-awareness, Self-confidence and Selflessness. He advised the students to recognize their potential and move forward, move ahead with full confidence, move ahead with selflessness. Speaking on hurdles that students may face in the future, the Prime Minister said that through self-awareness, self-confidence and selflessness difficult situations can be overcome in life.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that in view of the aspiration of 21st century India, IITs have to be taken to the next level as Institute of Indigenous Technology. The Prime Minister also called on students to make solar energy affordable through improved technology. Union Education Minister Mr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ and Union Minister of State for Education Mr. Sanjay Dhotre were present on the occasion.
